History of Boy Scouts:

General Robert Baden-Powell begain scouting in England in 1907 when he discovered that boys were using his military book, Aids to Scouting as a guide for outdoor activities. He put together a program for boys and rewrote his book, calling it Scouting for Boys

Scouting came to the United States in 1910 when William Boyce encountered an annonymous Scout in England who helped him find his way and refused a tip. Boyce founded the Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910.
